Not a fun post, sorry. A friend was given a bouquet last week. It had lilies in it. Her cat brushed past, groomed the pollen off her own fur, and was in an emergency vet by evening with acute kidney injury. She is going to be fine, because the vet was quick. But every part of a lily is toxic to cats — petals, leaves, pollen, even the water in the vase. If you have a cat, just do not have them in the house. Tell people not to bring them. And if you think your cat has touched one, ring a vet immediately rather than waiting to see.
