About Pets

Pets is a small hobbyist site for people and their animals. Post a story, share a photo, join a group, argue gently about the best brand of cat food. That is the whole idea.

A few house rules

• Be kind. It is a pet site; there is nothing here worth being unpleasant about.
• Only post photos you took or have permission to use.
• Nothing here is veterinary advice. If your animal seems unwell, ring a vet.

Your privacy

• Your email address is never shown to other members.
• Passwords are stored hashed with Argon2id — we cannot read them.
• The site is served over HTTPS only.
• Uploaded photos are re-encoded on the server, which removes the EXIF metadata cameras and phones embed — including the GPS coordinates of where the picture was taken.
• There are no third-party scripts, trackers, ads or analytics. The page you are reading loads nothing from any other domain.

A note on this demo

This is a demonstration site. The database is reset to its starting state every 30 minutes, so accounts, stories, photos and comments created here are deliberately temporary. Please do not reuse a password you use anywhere else, and treat anything you post as short-lived.
